Tickets on sale for A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Kilkenny

Rough Magic’s new and uniquely Irish take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream is set to ignite this year’s Kilkenny Arts Festival.

Shakespeare in the Castle Yard is always a Festival ‘must see’; an open-air summer spectacular and family favourite.

This year, director Lynne Parker has created a production specifically for Castle Yard that will prove Shakespeare is for life, not just for the Leaving Cert.

Shakespeare’s most magical comedy will spark beneath the Kilkenny twilight, presented by Rough Magic’s dynamic new ensemble of actors and designers.

Spirits, lovers, tyrants and fools will inhabit parallel worlds within the walls of the Castle Yard. Prepare to enter a topsy-turvy universe ignited by language, warped by magic, and love-struck by unnatural means. The mind isn’t the only thing playing tricks in this hilarious and contemporary revision of the bard’s beloved romcom.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream runs from Friday 10 – Saturday 18 August at 8pm. Preview Thursday 9 August.
